What subjects are included in the IPW program? 

Mathematics helps students develop practical calculation skills used in hospitality and culinary industries, such as costing, budgeting, measurements, inventory management, and financial operations. 

Why do students need to study Mathematics in the IPW? 

English is essential language for communicating with international guests, understanding professional materials, and increasing career opportunities in global hospitality businesses. 

Why is English important in the hospitality industry?

The IPM1 focuses on basic mathematical foundations, including arithmetic, decimals, fractions, percentages, ratios, and mathematical functions that can be applied in culinary arts, hotel management, and hospitality industries. 

What is the IPM1? 

The IPM2 focuses on unit conversions, measurements, area and volume calculations, simple and compound interest, discounts, markups, and mathematical problem-solving. 

What is the IPM2? 

Learning evaluation includes:  

* Participation (Moodle and classroom activities)  
* Assignments  
* Projects  
* Quizzes  
* Final examination

What is the grading system for IPM? 

The IPE4 helps students strengthen intermediate English grammar skills, sentence and paragraph writing, and communication skills for academic and real-world situations. 

What is the IPE4? 

The IPE5 focuses on upper-intermediate English grammar and improves students’ confidence in speaking and communication through regular practice and interactive activities. 


What is the IPE5? 

The IPE6 aims to develop students’ advanced English grammar, essay writing, reading comprehension, and language application for academic, workplace, and real-world contexts.

Activities may include:  

* One-on-one sessions  
* LC Assignments  
* Writing tasks  
* Classroom activities  
* Listening tests  
* Speaking tests  
* Reading tests

* DSET Mock test (IPE4, IPE5)  
* DSET taking (IPE6) 

What activities are included in the IPE courses? 

* G (good) = 90–100%  
* S (satisfactory) = 60–89%  
* U (unsatisfactory) = 0–59% 

What is the grading system for IPE courses? 

Students who achieve 90% or above in the IPE5 are eligible for BBA registration without studying the IPE6. 

What happens if a student gets 90% or above in the IPE5? 

Students who fail to take the IPE must re-enroll in the course during the regular semester. Some students may still enroll in certain credit-bearing foundation, general education courses ana a Third Language, for instance. 

What happens if a student fails IPE? 

The DSET is the standard English language test tailored merely for the use of Dusit Thani College.  The test mainly focuses on the English language proficiency used in culinary and hospitality businesses.  

The test is used for benchmarking students’ English language abilities before SFT and graduation.

What does the DSET examination include? 

The DSET Mock-up Test is designed to help students practice with a simulated test environment and prepare for the actual DSET.
