How Much Does a Custom Puppet Cost?

Our rates are comparable to other creative professionals that provide highly specialized services. The custom puppets that we create are one of a kind and can vary greatly in price depending on the specific demands of each project. There are many variables that impact the final price: material costs, design complexity, labor/time, fabrication needs, shipping, etc. We are happy to provide a quote if you fill out the CUSTOM PUPPET REQUEST FORM and tell us a bit about your project.

How Long Does It Take To Build A Puppet?

Custom puppets typically take 40-80 hours to complete, including design, patterning, fabrication, and sewing. Orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. If a quicker turnaround is needed, additional charges may apply. Each puppet is handcrafted with attention to detail. After agreeing on a price, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required for materials. The remaining balance plus postage is due once you approve the final puppet. General wait times are 6-8 weeks, unless otherwise specified. An estimated completion date will be provided after placing the order. Work begins once the deposit is received.

We believe that a “professional” puppet is one that was built using high-quality materials and designed with the performer in mind. As puppeteers, we know that in addition to looking fantastic, a puppet also needs to perform and move.

What About Copyright Issues?

All custom puppets include exclusive rights to you. Custom puppet character rights are owned by you, while we retain the rights to the patterns. This gives us the ability to reproduce future puppets for you and you only.

Question 8

Can You Make Me A Muppet Replica?

Accepted Answer

Disney owns the rights to those characters. So, no we cannot. You must own the rights or have written permission from the owner for us to create a puppet based on a particular design.
