Fletcher's recall and speech capabilities are intended to be utilized through a combination of M5Stack combos placed throughout each room of my home. The M5stacks are like the ears, and the "hub" is a touchscreen connected to a Raspberry Pi 5 with an external SSD. My initial goal was to test how well we can command her to complete simple commands like "turn on the lights." The M5Stack combo has IR capabilities that could send the collected IR codes to these lights and turn them on or off after numerous tests and a closer look at the remotes that all are able to control the same set of lights. I realized the remotes are RF. A huge surprise, considering the lights are just cheap Amazon purchases. IR is more affordable so it seemed like a no brainer. In order to get Fletcher to turn these lights on or off, I must attach the appropriate RF transmitter to each M5Stack combo. Additionally, I would need to purchase a more sophisticated RF receiver that can match the frequency of the lights..
