Question 1

What exactly do you do, Meg?

Accepted Answer

That often changes! I have a career where I get paid to be myself and I don't consider myself as having a job. My career is an amorphous blob where I share my unique brain, personality, life experience, and perspective in whatever way I feel has the greatest impact on culture at any given moment. As a designer with a background in performance, I often find myself giving keynotes, teaching workshops, and designing for clients. But that's only the beginning of what I can, and will, do!

Question 2

How much does a keynote cost?

Accepted Answer

Conference and corporate rates are different and I adjust my pricing depending on event size, company size, and realistic budgets. Tell me about your event and your budget and I'll be honest with you! I even set a couple of slots aside for low-budget events. Just ask!

Question 3

What's your current keynote about?

Accepted Answer

For decades, the world has been selling adults one idea: be normal. And it worked too well! We're now the most distracted, exhausted, predictable, least original adults in history (right when the world needs fresh ideas the most). This keynote is a gloomy wake-up call with a joyful solution. Blending social science with comedy, clown, and improv theory, I show how we got trained to be boring, what it's costing us, and the technique to silence the noise and get our original ideas back!

Question 4

My whole event is about AI, will you fit?

Accepted Answer

My keynotes are about the future of human innovation. I've found that audiences at AI-forward events are grateful for a refreshing change in pace! While I don't go on an anti-AI rant (that's not what my keynote is about), I don't address AI either. My keynote is about the societal norms that turn unique, shining kids into boring adults. And gives adults the tools to innovate and ideate more uniquely. My keynote provides a joyful burst of autonomy, control, and hope during a rapidly uncertain time! It's the perfect counterbalance to an event that is tech-heavy and tool-centric.

Question 5

Our audience isn't "creative" will your perspective work?

Accepted Answer

Yes! My talks, workshops, and courses are not exclusive to creativity as a job. It's my job to show every adult that they *are* creative by just being themselves. In fact, my perspective usually has the greatest impact in a room full of people who don't often get to play!

Question 6

Do you do virtual experiences?

Accepted Answer

Yes, quite often! I have a pre-built set and all the equipment to make appearing virtually just as exciting as in-person. I thrive on creating closeness and vulnerability, impact and change in any space: virtual or stadium!

Designer! Performer! Educator! I help adults undo, unlearn, and ungrow-up. Keynotes, workshops, courses, and a very good (?) newsletter!
