What training methods do you use?

I use scientifically proven methods that help you reach your training goals while building your relationship and trust with your dog.

I do not use aversive tools to obtain results. This means, I do not use tools that are designed to cause discomfort or pain for your dog. While these methods can be effective, the risk of fallout is severe, particularly when dealing with fear-based behaviours. They are also outdated and unethical, as they rely on pain and punishment to teach the dog, rather than solving the root cause of the behaviours.

I prefer to examine the situation through all angles. I strive to find the root cause of the behaviour and the factors that affect it. This way, we can treat *why* the dog is displaying the problematic behaviour rather than just suppressing it.

My dog has bitten people before. Can you help me?

Accepted Answer

I have worked with many bite-risk dogs and am very comfortable doing so. Depending on the individual situation, I may require you to muzzle-train your dog prior to an in-person session. If that’s the case, I will provide all the support you need to make that happen (handouts, demo videos, virtual call, etc).
