Great bar, very big with lots of seating and different areas. Plenty of screens showing multiple sports. Outside smoking area with tables and chairs.

I’ve visited Mode three different Saturdays over the last 90 days, specifically on Saturdays. While the drinks are very cheap, the experience has been consistently let down by the environment and some odd kitchen habits.<br><br>The "Burnt" Sunday Prep:<br>Every single time I've been in on a Saturday, the kitchen seems to be prep-cooking the roasts for Sunday, and every time it smells of burning. On our most recent visit (April 18th), we arrived around 5:00 PM and were hit with a smell like burnt toast, which turned out to be burnt Yorkshire puddings.<br><br>The most baffling part? Since they weren't serving food, we left around 6:30 PM to eat elsewhere. When we returned around 10:30 PM, the burning smell was still lingering in the air!<br><br>The Atmosphere:<br>It’s a real shame, but the place just isn't busy anymore, which leaves it feeling quite empty and flat.<br><br>The Volume: To compensate for the lack of crowd, the sports on the TVs are kept VERY LOUD. It makes it difficult to have a conversation without shouting over the commentary.<br><br>Pros &amp; Cons:<br><br>Pros: Extremely affordable drinks; good for a budget-friendly night.<br><br>Cons: Overwhelming smell of burnt food (even hours later), deafening TV volume, and a lack of general atmosphere.<br><br>Summary: If you’re just looking for cheap drinks and don't mind the smell of a kitchen mishap that lasts all night, Mode fits the bill. However, it's hard to enjoy a night out when you're constantly smelling burnt Sunday prep in the middle of a Saturday night.

I met up with friends for the Sunday carvery and we all enjoyed our food. They lost one point as it took an age for the vegetarian option to arrive for one guest and the sport being aired at lunch time was way too loud.
