MixoHistorian

Michael Crespin, the MixoHistorian®, is a cocktail historian and researcher dedicated to uncovering cocktail history, traditions, and recipes. His career began in 2007 at Le Helder in Tours, France, where he discovered bartending while completing a University Diploma in Bartending. In 2012, he began contributing research to Cocktail Mag, exploring cocktails, their culture, and history. His investigations revealed how easily recipes and historical narratives can be altered, repeated without verification, or separated from their original sources, leading him to develop a rigorous, source-based approach to cocktail history. Since 2023, his work has focused on tracing cocktails to their earliest documented appearances through historical cocktail books, publications, and other primary sources. In 2026, he created the registered trademark MixoHistorian®, combining "mixo" and "historian" to describe his work.
