Haha, where do I start? The last thing someone told me that was completely wrong was that I’m insecure. Maybe because I edit my photos or something.

But honestly, I’m not insecure. I’m incredibly comfortable in my own skin. Sometimes to the point that it intimidates other people. If anything, I need to practice more humility and self-control. But insecure? Nooo.

What’s a hill you’ll die on that isn’t actually important?

Every hill I choose to die on is important. 😂

Honestly, I can’t think of one. My mind has been occupied by bigger things lately. If I come up with an answer, it’ll probably become a hill worth dying on.

What trait do you admire in yourself?

My flexibility.

I’ve definitely had moments where I’ve been reactive or emotional, but ultimately things pass through me and don’t stay there. I’m a free spirit. I love my quirkiness, my boldness, and my tiger-like attitude toward life.

I move with ease, trust myself, and when the moment is right, I act. I have a lot of fun in my life, and I genuinely like who I am.

What’s something you’ve outgrown?

Choosing being liked over my own peace.

I’m completely okay with being judged, or even disliked, if it means I get to keep my inner peace. That mindset came from years of therapy, solitude, self-awareness, and learning how to be more aligned with myself.

Sometimes I feel like an outsider, but it doesn’t really bother me anymore. Most of the time, I have access to something far more valuable: my own peace of mind.

What’s a lesson that took you way too long to learn?

Probably that expressing yourself is healthier than trying to appear completely unbothered.

I used to think being stoic, cool, and unaffected was power. But holding everything in comes with consequences. When your feelings don’t have a safe place to exist, eventually your mind turns against you.

After some difficult experiences and a lot of work, I’ve learned to let myself feel things and express them. It’s become an act of self-love. Boundaries still feel awkward sometimes, but they get easier. Every time I practice them, I learn a little more about myself.

I have a tendency to disappear when people get too close.

Not because I'm fearful or avoidant. I just believe independence is incredibly important. I think a lot of healing comes from learning how to stand and walk on your own two feet.

People talk a lot about attachment, but I think healthy detachment is underrated. Being able to return to yourself, regardless of what's happening around you, brings a deep sense of peace.

What's something you do purely because it brings you joy?

Walk.

I love moving my feet. I love being in my body instead of trapped in my thoughts. I have two strong, functional legs, and I genuinely enjoy using them.

I've actually had people make fun of how much I love walking, but I don't care. It makes me happy.

Social conditioning.

I don't let other people dictate my emotional state anymore. Sure, people can affect my mood, but I'm very good at removing myself and returning to my center.

There are a lot of needy, demanding energies in the world. Learning how to step away from them and reconnect with myself has been one of the most valuable skills I've developed.

What does a good life look like to you?

A regulated nervous system.

Good health. Meaningful relationships. Community. Belonging. Faith. Emotional consistency.

Honestly, I think a good life is much simpler than people make it out to be.

Not being strong enough, or equipped enough, when I needed to be.

I did the best I could with what I knew at the time. That's enough.

People who are unapologetic about who they are.

I can usually tell when someone is performing for approval versus when they're simply showing up as themselves. Messy, imperfect, honest, and real.

Everyone says being nice attracts honey. But if there's no honey around, what are we doing? Let's go find some honey instead of performing for it. Lol.

What compliment has stuck with you for years?

Ever since I was a kid, people have told me that the way I think, and especially the way I write, was ahead of my time.

I'm not always the brightest tool in the shed, I'll tell you that. Lol. But I've always tried to protect my natural gifts and develop them. That compliment stayed with me because it wasn't about how I looked or what I accomplished. It was about the way my mind works.

People tell me I’m “too honest,” and it always makes me laugh. I just don’t have the energy to pretend. A lot of people get caught up in how they come across, but I care more about feeling like I’m actually showing up as myself. If someone misunderstands me, that’s fine. I’d rather be real than polished.

I’m not saying I’ve never lied, but I can’t hold onto one. It sits in my mind until I let it out. Sometimes I talk to the person, sometimes I write it down, sometimes I tell someone I trust. I don’t like carrying things that don’t feel true.

Honestly?

"How are you?"

People are often curious about what I'm doing, what I look like, or what's happening around me. I think more people could benefit from simply asking someone is doing and genuinely listening to the answer.

What are you embarrassingly enthusiastic about?

Nothing. Lol.

I don't really get embarrassed about the things I love.

But if I had to pick one thing, it's self-care and beauty. Not embarrassed, but perhaps shy? I absolutely love taking care of myself. My health, body, hygiene, routines, all of it. People mostly see the photos, but they don't always see how much joy I get from the process itself.

What completely ordinary moment that makes you happy every time?

Waking up.

And going to bed.

Seriously.

My favorite hours of the day are usually early in the morning and late in the evening. There's something really peaceful about beginning and ending the day. Especially with hard work in between. Those moments remind me that life is actually simpler than we make it.

My own person.

I don't blindly follow rules written by people I don't respect. I've worked hard to think for myself, trust my instincts, and build a life that reflects my values instead of someone else's expectations.

I love my freedom, and I've spent years earning it.

My inner child.

I've gotten to know my adult self very well. She's disciplined, capable, and grounded.

But my inner child is stubborn, wild, headstrong, and expressive. I've spent years helping her feel safe, but I'm still learning how to give her more room to exist without immediately trying to manage or discipline her.

They think it has to look like everyone else's version of freedom.

Freedom isn't conformity. It isn't living according to somebody else's script. You can be a cowboy, an artist, a mystic, a business owner, or something nobody has a name for yet.

Freedom is messy. It requires sacrifice. Sometimes it means standing alone.

But freedom is necessary. I think our souls need it to live in harmony and abundance.

The loneliness that comes from choosing your own path.

Not everyone will understand your choices. Not everyone will agree with the way you love yourself or the life you build.

But I've learned that being alone and being abandoned are not the same thing.

My connection to myself.

People often notice my appearance first. They notice what I'm wearing, how I present myself or the effort I put into my beauty.

What they don't always see is how hard I've worked to become mindful, self-aware, and thoughtful. That inner work means far more to me than anything else visible on the surface.
