Jonathan S. Marion, PhD

I am a transformational coach, consultant, and speaker who supports accomplished professionals as they move from performing their lives to actually living them. My background is in psychological anthropology, with a PhD from UC San Diego and years spent studying how people make meaning through embodiment and identity. That lens shapes how I work. I pay attention to the body alongside the mind, and I stay curious about the conditions in which a person lives. I am an ICF Professional Certified Coach and a Professional Fellow of the Institute of Coaching. My book, Coaching Across Cultures: A Guide to Cultural Navigation, will be published by Wiley in December 2026. Alongside coaching and consulting, I teach Brazilian zouk and run La Casa Del Corpo, an embodied movement studio in Lagos, Portugal. Coaching, dance, and photography are the same interest approached from different angles: how people live through their bodies, and what can shift when they pay attention.
