BALI KINTAMANI NATURAL Bali Kintamani Natural is sourced from family owned farms located in the Kintamani highlands on the island province of Bali, Indonesia. The coffee is grown in the volcanic soils of Mount Agung along with citrus trees that provide shade and another source of income. Coffee production is typically organized around a Subak Abian, which refers to the ecologically sustainable irrigation systems developed more than 1,000 years ago by Hindu priests who practice Tri Hita Karana (the three sources of prosperity), a philosophy focused on the harmonization between the environment, humans, and the Goddess Lakshmi. The idea of a natural processed coffee was suggested during Royal’s origin trip in 2009 to address an issue of water scarcity. It was an easy step to drying whole ripe cherry given that raised beds were already used for drying parchment. The project has been fully implemented and the results have been exceptional. This coffee is a medium-light roast, modern tasting coffee with notes of fresh tropical fruit and hints of chocolatey sweetness. The combination yields a bright, refreshing cup that tastes like the delicacy it is. This is a limited release coffee, which means we only bought a small amount of the green needed for roasting. Once we are sold out it is gone for the harvest season, making it extremely exclusive.

WINE BARREL AGED COFFEE A year and a half in the making, we are proud to present our first ever, Wine Barrel Aged coffee. In collaboration with our very good friends Bivium Wine's Petite Sirah and our single-origin Tanzania we have created an incredibly unique tasting coffee. Bivium Wine is owned by long time friend, collaborator, and Angels & Airwaves manager Jimmy Throgmorton. Ever since Jimmy began Bivium Wine, we knew we wanted to create something special together. Something that was outside the scope of musical collaboration, touring, recording, etc. The perfect solidification of friendship comes this awesome new product we are stoked to share with you. Meshing Jimmy's passion for wine with David's love for coffee. Bivium wine sent us a barrel from the Seguin Moreau Cooperage. The barrel is an Icone elegance (medium-long traditional toast), the barrel was used once and the wine was aged for 26 months. The aromatics from this specific barrel are baking spices, sweet tobacco, and vanilla. We then took that barrel and allowed our Shilanga Tanzania green coffee to soak up all of those aromatics and notes pre-roasting. What you get in the final cup is something entirely unqiue. Not quite wine, not quite coffee. But something new, fun, and interesting. This coffee smells like cracking open a fresh bottle of wine as the coffee brewer just finished making a fat pot. It takes on the notes of blackberry, green tea, tart lime, chocolate, and vanilla.
