Question 1

What are your opening times? 👻🧡

Accepted Answer

You can find updated opening times on the main link tree and our instagram. This will be regularly monitored and updated and we will add each weeks times onto instagram and update the images as and when the display progresses. Currently the display is nowhere near ready but we have plenty of time to get it up and running for the end of the month. 🧡

Question 2

How much does it cost to visit? 🧡

Accepted Answer

It is free to enter our haunt as it is a not for profit home display. We don’t operate as a business, we are just simply a family who enjoy doing this as a hobby and to give back to the local area. If you do wish to donate, feel free to click on the Kofi link. All tips and donations are appreciated and help to cover a small portion of the costs associated with setup each year and towards new animatronics / decor (I spend over £50 on batteries alone every year!). If you’re interested in learning more about how and why it started there’s a blog post on the instagram link 🧡

Question 3

What sort of treats do you give out? 🧡

Accepted Answer

It really depends on the year / finances before the big day. In previous years we’ve given out juice cartons alongside bags made up with sweets and toys and this year we will be giving out full sized sweets (not from multipacks). As to appeal to as many children as possible you can expect a full sized drumstick chew bar, a love heart lipstick candy bar and and a swizzels double dip orange and cherry sherbet with a miniature bag of treat sized haribo for the first 350 children who arrive on the 31st of October. We will only be giving sweets out on that day and they will come presealed in a black and white striped paper bag with a sticker on the front. Once we have run out of these, we will then have loose sweets to hand out. We did run out last year so we apologise in advance 👻🧡

Question 4

Why is the display in your rear garden and not your front this year? 🧡

Accepted Answer

The front of our property is not only a trip hazard due to uneven steps and stones, we simply would not be able to deal with the amount or demand of children and guests for that small size. For safety and enjoyment reasons we will be running the display from the back garden and have created a path for you to follow. You will be allowed in with groups of ten at a time so that everyone is safe and gets the best experience possible. Last year we were very aware that during peak times it was very rushed and overcrowded so wanted to mitigate that this year 🧡

Question 5

Is the display additional needs friendly? 👻🧡

Accepted Answer

It very much depends on the individual access needs of you and your child. I will be adding a daytime and nighttime walk through video to my instagram so that you are able to make an assessment in advance. I’ve also created a sensory guide to include some of the main components of the display I’d be concerned with. You are more than welcome to email haughtyshaunts@gmail.com with more questions if they aren’t covered by the information you can find online. We are more than happy to interact with non verbal children and we will also be running the Halloween display with no sounds / animatronics off before Halloween should this be more suitable for your party 🧡

Haughty’s Haunts
