Mahir is a distinguished international fencing champion whose career is adorned with numerous high-profile medals and accolades. Competing at the pinnacle of the sport, Mahir earned a bronze medal at the Mediterranean Games in Tunis (2001) and represented his country with distinction in the Olympic Games in Sydney (2000) and Athens (2004). His prowess on the African continent is well-documented, with Mahir becoming the African Champion in 2003 and securing multiple silver and bronze medals across the African and Arab Championships. As a coach, Mahir has continued to excel, leading his teams to dominate the fencing landscape in Kuwait. Under his expert guidance, his teams have won the Kuwait overall excellence shield in fencing for four consecutive years (2020-2024).
