Therapy session fees vary depending on whether the session is online or in-person and on the clinic location.

Current session fees range between 1200–1750 EGP for Egypt-based clients, and 50–80 USD for online sessions with international clients.

The exact price for each option is listed under the corresponding clinic or online session button above.

If needed, we can provide payment receipts for insurance.

Why is there a price difference for local and international clients?

For those of you in Egypt, the private online session fee is 800 EGP, and for my clients living abroad, it’s 50 USD per session (or the equivalent in your local currency). I understand that pricing can be a sensitive topic, and I’ve carefully set these rates to reflect the differences in living costs and income levels around the world. The goal is to keep sessions accessible for my local clients while still aligning with international standards. The international fee also reflects the value of the support and expertise I provide, which is in line with what’s typical for therapy services globally. I truly appreciate your understanding, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

How often do I need to attend therapy?

The general recommendation for session frequency is weekly. For most people, weekly sessions are a good starting point. This allows for consistent support and skill-building.

If you are experiencing severe symptoms, you may benefit from more frequent sessions, such as two or three times per week.

As you make progress in therapy, you may be able to reduce the frequency of your sessions to once every other week or once a month.

Some people may only need to attend therapy sessions as needed, such as during times of stress or crisis.

The length of therapy can vary depending on the individual and the specific issue being addressed. Some people may only need a few sessions, while others may need long-term therapy.

You don’t have to be in a crisis to see a therapist. You don’t have to wait until things get worse. Therapy is a great tool for improving self-understanding and maintaining mental health, even when things are fine. Additionally, it’s often easier to do the work when we still have the energy to do so and aren’t yet in a crisis.

What should I expect during my first session?

During the first session, we begin the intake and history-taking process. We cover topics such as your reasons for coming to therapy, personality traits, core beliefs, history, childhood experiences, traumatic events, family dynamics, past relationships, attachment styles, medical history, substance use, risk assessment, coping strategies, and treatment goals.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes, therapy is confidential. This means that your therapist cannot share any information about your sessions with anyone else, unless you give them explicit permission to do so. There are a few exceptions to this rule, such as if you are a danger to yourself or others, or if there is suspicion of child abuse. However, these exceptions are rare.

Most of the work happens between sessions. A weekly 45-minute therapy session is a tiny part of your life. Most of the progress is made between sessions by applying what you’ve learned in therapy to your daily life.

You don't need to lie; you have the right to confidentiality and lying only harms you.

You don't need to sugarcoat things; this makes it more difficult for your therapist to know what is going on.

You don't need to apologize for crying; it's normal and healthy.

You don't need to be perfect; it's enough to show up as you are.

You don't need to push yourself too hard too quickly; you have the right to set a pace that's right for you.

You don't need to worry about hurting your therapist's feelings; they're a professional and therapy is about you.

You don't need to worry about disappointing or impressing your therapist; they're there for you.

You don't need to stay quiet if something isn't working; feedback is an opportunity to modify the approach.

What is the difference between psychiatrists and psychologists?

Both psychiatrists and psychologists are experts in mental health and conduct psychotherapy. However, "-iatry" refers to medical treatment; therefore, psychiatrists are medical doctors who assess both mental and physical aspects of psychological problems, as well as conduct and prescribe medical treatments. On the other hand, "-ology" refers to the study of a topic; thus, psychologists hold an advanced degree and have extensive training in research or clinical practice; they specialize in psychological testing and evaluation, as well as psychotherapy.

A therapist won't give you advice. A therapist isn’t there to tell you what to do, especially when it comes to the decisions you make in your personal life. Instead, they’re there to guide you towards self-understanding and towards finding you own solutions that work for you.

Your first therapist isn't always your ideal therapist, but this doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with you. Finding a therapist is as much about finding someone you click and feel comfortable with as it is about finding someone who specializes in the things you want to work on.

A therapist can turn you away, and that's good. Sometimes, a therapist might tell you that they think they aren't the right fit. This doesn't mean you're untreatable, in fact, it's typically a sign of an ethical therapist and saves you a lot of time (and money). Therapists should practice within the limits of their competence - if they don't have experience or training in treating a certain problem, they shouldn't be using you as a guinea pig to see if they can treat it.

You can have a solid support system and still need therapy. A therapist isn’t a ‘paid friend’ - they’re there to help you with various personalized and evidence-based techniques.

How long does it typically take to see results from therapy?

Therapy isn’t a magic fix. You might have really high expectations for your first session, which is understandable. But therapy is a marathon, not a sprint. It might take a while for you to get comfortable enough with your therapist to really work on the painful stuff, and applying what you’ve learned in therapy to your everyday life takes time, too.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least 12 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
For cancellations made within the notice period and no-shows, the full session fee will be charged by the clinic.
Late arrivals impact the session length. Sessions will end at the scheduled time.
