About Me
I am a Ph.D. candidate at Florida State University researching precipitation patterns in the tropical pacific. I work with climate models, observational data, and paleoclimate data to characterize tropical precipitation patterns under abrupt forcing using machine learning. I am interested in investigating patterns of precipitation in past and future climate as well as the driving underlying mechanisms.
I completed my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Kennesaw State University, before traveling to Taiwan for my M.S. in Environmental Sustainable Development at National Central University, Taoyuan City. I later entered Florida State University and completed my M.S. in the Department of Oceanography before starting my Ph.D. in the Department of Geography.
I am half Colombian and half Taiwanese. Since I was raised in Bogota, Colombia, Spanish is my first language. I enjoy traveling, music, outdoor trails, biking, scuba diving, and observing wildlife among many other things.
