Q: How old does my child need to be to participate?
A: We are recruiting children ages 3 to 12 to participate in our studies.

Q: What does participating in a study look like?
A: You and your child will meet with a researcher over Zoom. The researcher will play 1 to 3 short story-based games with your child. The study will take 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the number of games played.

Q: What does my child receive for participating?
A: Your child will receive a thank-you gift of up to $5.00, in the form of a gift card, small prize, book, or toy.

Q: I have multiple children who are eligible to participate. Can all of them participate?
A: Yes! However, we ask that each child plays the study games independently.

Q: My child and I do not live near the University of Rochester. Can we participate?
A: Yes! Our studies are primarily held over Zoom so we accept participants from anywhere in the United States.
