The best Cafe around. I absolutely love it here. The food is delicious and always well presented and served with a smile. The staff work so hard and seem to know everybody’s name! I love the buzz and the ambience. It’s my favourite place for either a quiet cappuccino or a full blown meal. Nowhere else compares. Keep up

had a breakfast here and it was pretty good over all, nice sausages which is important on a decent breakfast but wasn't impressed with the boiled mushrooms (don't know why cafes still boil mushrooms they should be fried on a breakfast) and don't like how you only get 1 piece of bacon should be 3 rashers minimum especially as its ment to be the large breakfast too  but over all it was quite a good quality breakfast

This place is extremely popular which is why you can’t book in advance. We arrived at about 11 am on a Saturday morning and it was rammed. We waited to be seated at a table near the door which was quite drafty as the door is open almost constantly, with people queueing to get in.
The Menu is quite comprehensive but we stuck to the breakfast options.
When we were ready I went up to the counter and queued again to give my order. This took a long time with only one till. The lady in the till was also serving slices of cake which she had to cut and plate, which added to the delay.
When the food arrived we found our table wasn’t quite big enough for 4 and it got very crowded .
Food was reasonably good, nicely cooked and presented.though they only serve smoked Bacon and there are no swaps allowed.

It was very noisy inside the venue which was to be expected with so many people but this wasn’t a relaxed Brunch as planned.
There is now a covered patio which used to be outside seating where people were sat wrapped up in their coats.

Parking was particularly difficult and it might be best to park in the shopping centre opposite and walk through?

In summary, this is a good cafe but it is in danger of being a victim of its own success.
We won’t be going back on a weekend, it was too busy, too noisy and far too frantic.
Perhaps mid week would be better?

I had always wondered why this place was always packed, so while driving past today, my wife, son, and I decided to stop in for breakfast. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve made in 2026! 😀 The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, delicious, and full of flavour. In fact, this was the first time I’ve ever eaten everything on a full English breakfast. Usually, there’s always something left behind, but every item was so tasty that with each bite, I couldn’t wait to try the next thing on the plate! Despite how busy the restaurant was, we didn’t have to wait long to be served, which was impressive. The only minor issue was that our drinks (hot chocolate and coffee) arrived quite a bit before our meals. I had expected everything to be served together. However, the lovely lady in red who was working today was incredibly attentive. She checked on us, made sure everything was okay, and kindly explained that we could request our drinks and food to be served at the same time in future. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. A special thank you to the wonderful team who looked after us during our visit on Saturday the 20th. We’ll definitely be back!

This is my partner and my favourite cafe ever. Its so modern and the service is amazing. The staff are so welcoming to the establishment and the food is banging. My only complaint is that I would really love to see more vegan cakes. Thanks to all the staff for all you do here!

Lovely food, great coffee and really friendly family atmosphere. I remember when Avenue Cafe first took up residence behind Sainsburys and the service was always so friendly. It’s been lovely to see them get bigger and still keep that service that is almost unique to them. We’ve been customers since our kids were in pushchairs and will still be customers for years to come. Be sure to attend their Greek special nights with Mezze and a live band. They’ve great coffee too, professionally brewed and lovely flavour. I even hired the whole restaurant for my 40th six years ago and had such a lovely evening!
