MIXofDIZ is the artist name for Brett Matthew Watson an Australian Producer based in Sydney Australia. Brett was born in 1977 and has worked in a variety of fields. He studied film and television and has worked in TV, Radio and Music Production in various engineering, creative and other technical roles. Brett has an Irish Wolfhound named Jed a small black Pug named Josh and ten cats, their names are SIX, Patrick, Ghost, Moira, Tory, Kai, Natasha, Earl, Abbey and Apollo. There’s also a chicken named Black-Chook and a turtle Named Raffi.

There is no single style or genre, each track and album is tailored differently to suit the narrative or mood of that particular piece and its themes there are digital collaborators and vocalist that return to create consistency in the sound at times.

For some parts of the songs MIXofDIZ sings the track as a guide for one of MIXofDIZ’s created AI personas to perform. In other parts the vocals are described in a series of prompts to achieve a vocal performance even MIXofDIZ could only aspire to. So Yes MIXofDIZ sings on the tracks but his voice has been altered into one of the DizzleNation Characters. One persona Vahlari is entirely generated whom MIXofDIZ called priestess, and she calls MIXofDIZ commander who is singing on the tracks but with an altered vocal performance.

Workshop themes & structure 3. begin writing lyrics that support the idea 4. try the early lyrics with different musical styles using new or previous personas 5. When a genre is chosen continue lyric writing & adapt lyrics to fit the chosen style 6. finalise the structure 6. begin instrumentation, recording & vocal generation 7. Iterate and improve lyrics & musical direction of while recording & create variations 8. re-record, iterate & generate new performances until it’s feels right 9. Edit the sections, groups & selected final variations & stems in audio production software. 10. Refine the flow until each section becomes the final version 11. Iterate on the edit until it sounds like the perfect version. 12. Master the track.

The earliest music memories for MIXofDIZ were Anne Murray’s ‘There’s a Hippo in my Bathub’ record which once outgrown was replaced by Joe Dolce’s 45 of Shaddap You Face! Following this was Icehouse, Whitney Houston & John Farnham. At this point MIXofDIZ musical taste fractured. Half was your pop legends Michael Jackson, Madonna the shared pop experience with the rest of the world along with the discovery of Tori Amos and her metaphorical genius that was a manual for surviving adolescence and life in general. A whole host of female singer song writers were then added to the rotation, Lisa Loeb, Dar Williams, Alanis Morrisette, Bjork, Bic Runga who were then joined by Imogen Heap and Ellie Goulding. But hey there was also a shit ton of My Chemical Romance in there too & now exclusively K-Pop
