What is F3?

F3 is a free, peer-led fitness and leadership program for men. The name stands for Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith: Fitness – Outdoor group workouts that are scalable to any fitness level. They’re usually bootcamp-style and happen early in the morning. Fellowship – Building camaraderie and accountability among men. A big part of F3 is forming bonds that go beyond the workouts. Faith – Not tied to any religion or denomination, but it emphasizes living for something bigger than yourself and serving others.

Who can come?

Men of any age and any fitness level. Modifications are always available—whether you’re new to exercise or a seasoned athlete. *18 and older unless accompanied by an adult.

Do I need to register?

No. Just show up. First-timers are called FNGs (Friendly New Guys).

Where do you meet?

We meet at two AOs (Areas of Operation) around Bend, including: (1) Riverbend Park – original (2) Pine Nursery – newer AO; growing

How much does it cost?

What should I bring?

•	Athletic clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.
	•	Gloves (optional, but recommended for ground work).
	•	Water.
	•	In colder months: layers and a hat.

How long are workouts?

Most are 45 minutes. Some weekend sessions may run longer (rucks, hikes, or special events).  Tuesdays continue with coffee hour at Simply Organic coffee shop. Thursdays end with a 3+ minute polar/cold plunge in the Deschutes during warmer months (bring towel).

What happens at a workout?

(1) Warm-o-Rama: Dynamic warm-up; (2) The Thang: Main workout (bodyweight, running, ruck, or themed beatdowns); (3) Mary: Core work / cool down; (4) COT (Circle of Trust): Short life reflection, announcements, and naming any FNGs

What’s with the nicknames?

Every FNG earns a nickname at their first post. It sticks. Expect it to be memorable (sometimes funny, sometimes brutal). Come ready to give a brief bio of yourself, interests, hobbies, sports, etc. to help get the ideas flowing.

What if I’m out of shape?

Perfect. You won’t be the first guy to feel gassed. Everyone works at their own pace, and no man is left behind. Simply state ‘modify’ and an optional variation will be quickly demonstrated, e.g., due to injury, soreness, or other reason.

What’s the “Faith” part?

It’s about living for something bigger than yourself. No preaching, no particular religion required. Each man defines that for himself. Share anything you like.

Is there a social side?

Yes—you’ll hear about this in the Slack group.  Coffee after certain workouts, rucks, region/statewide challenges, lunches, family events, and the occasional challenge (plunges in the Deschutes, mountain summits, etc.).

How do I stay connected?

Ask at a workout to get added to our Slack channel for schedules, updates, and banter.  As of August 2025, there are 100+ guys in the Old Mill channel and 50+ guys in the Pine Nursery channel.
