Tink and I have always worked hard to support ourselves and maintain a stable home. Recently, He lost his job, and now I’m facing hip surgery that will leave me unable to work for at least six weeks. While we will receive unemployment and short-term disability, it may not be enough to cover rent, utilities, food, and other essential bills. I work in urgent care as a certified clinical medical assistant and limited x-ray technician, and my husband worked as a drafter. We’ve done everything we can to stay afloat, but this difficult season has put us in a position where we need help.
