While therapy often explores past experiences, emotions, and mental health concerns, parent coaching is future-focused and solution-oriented. Coaching provides practical strategies and guidance to help parents address specific challenges and improve their family dynamics. It’s about taking action and moving forward rather than diagnosing or treating psychological conditions.

Who can benefit from parent coaching?

Any parent or caregiver looking for support, guidance, and eager to make positive change can benefit from coaching. Whether you're struggling with tantrums, sibling rivalry, bedtime battles, behaviour or discipline challenges, or simply want to strengthen your relationship with your child, coaching provides the tools and strategies to help your family thrive.

Do both parents need to participate in coaching sessions?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily! Coaching is beneficial whether one or both parents participate. While having both parents involved can create consistency, it’s not always possible due to work/life demands. If only one parent is available for coaching, we can still work together to create meaningful changes that positively impact the whole family. It's important that the attending parent passes on the coaching materials and skills to the other parent so they are on the same page in their parenting style.

What kind of parenting challenges do you help with?

- Managing tantrums, big emotions and sleep issues
- Feeling disconnected from your child
- Handling sibling conflicts and power struggles
- Screen time management and social media challenges
- Transitions like divorce, new siblings, or moving house
- Neurodivergence and behavioural challenges
- School avoidance, bullying and friendships

What can I expect from a coaching session?

Each session is 100% confidential and non-judgmental. Considering your specific goals and challenges, we'll explore what’s working, what’s not, and practical strategies to help you move forward. You’ll leave each session with clear action steps and tools you can start using right away. My goal is to provide empathetic guidance and actionable skills that make parenting feel more manageable and rewarding.

Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?

All sessions are virtual, via Google Meet and can be recorded, if requested.

Question 8

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

Accepted Answer

Life as a parent can be unpredictable, and I understand that things come up! If you need to reschedule or cancel a session, I kindly ask for at least 48 hours' notice so I can offer the time slot to another family. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be subject to a cancellation fee. If an emergency arises, please reach out, and I’ll do my best to find a solution that works for you.

Are coaching sessions confidential?

Absolutely! All coaching sessions are completely confidential and non-judgmental. My goal is to create a safe space where you can openly share your challenges without fear of criticism. The only exception to confidentiality is if there is a safeguarding concern - meaning if I have reason to believe that a child or vulnerable person is at risk of harm, I am legally and ethically required to take appropriate action to ensure their safety. Otherwise, everything we discuss stays strictly between us.

What qualifications do you have as a parent coach?

I have completed all my training with Parent4Success and Elizabeth O’Shea, a highly respected parenting specialist and child behaviour expert. I have successfully passed the Bronze, Silver, and Gold exams and am currently studying for the Platinum level, with plans to pursue Super Coach certification later this year. I am continuously building on my skills to provide the most effective, research-based strategies to support parents in creating a calm, connected, and thriving family life.

Do you work with children directly, or only parents?

I work exclusively with parents and caregivers - I will never meet with your child directly. My goal is to empower you with the tools, strategies, and confidence to create positive change within your family. You are the expert on your child, and I am here to support you in strengthening your relationship and navigating parenting challenges with more ease.

How long does it take to see results?

Every family is different, and the timeline for results depends on your goals, your consistency in implementing strategies, and your specific situation. Many parents begin to see small but meaningful shifts after the first session, while deeper transformations take time and practice. My role is to provide you with practical, actionable tools that can create positive change as soon as you start using them consistently.

What if my partner/co-parent isn’t on board with coaching?

Accepted Answer

For parenting strategies to be most effective, it’s ideal for both parents to be open to trying new approaches and working together. When both caregivers are on the same page, it creates consistency and a stronger foundation for positive change. However, I understand that not everyone is immediately open to coaching. If only one parent is willing to participate, we can still work on practical strategies that you can implement, which often encourage the other parent to see the benefits and become more receptive over time.

What if I try coaching and don’t think it’s the right fit?

Parenting is personal, and I want you to feel fully supported on this journey. If you feel that coaching isn’t the right fit, I encourage you to share your concerns, and we can adjust our approach or explore alternative solutions. My goal is to provide practical, actionable tools that create real positive change.
