I am a full-time college student. Can I still apply for this program?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the program has been designed while keeping the busy schedules of full-time students and employees in mind. As long as you are self-motivated and can dedicate a few hours to the program every week, you are welcome to apply.

Do I have to pay anything to be part of this program?

Accepted Answer

The program is completely FREE to apply. There is a comprehensive selection process, and only a handful are selected as final participants.

How long is the duration of the program?

The program duration is February 2025 to September 2025. Only those who can commit to completing the program will be considered.

I am from arts background. Will this program help me?

L2D media literacy program follows a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach which benefits everyone. L2D year 1 participants were from diverse academic backgrounds such as Banking, History, Biology, Maths, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI and Robotics, Journalism, Mass Communications, and many more. They learnt important skills such as source evaluation, emotional regulation and digital well-being, awareness of cognitive biases, and being resilient to misinformation, which they continue to apply to their personal, academic and professional lives.

I was part of L2D last year. Can I apply again?

Yes, our L2D champs from last year are strongly encouraged to apply again. L2D Year 2 will build on those skills and help our champs get even more opportunities to develop their leadership skills and kickstart their careers.

Can students from other cities participate in the program?

Accepted Answer

At the moment, L2D program is only offered in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad. Since the program involves monthly offline exchanges, it’s advisable to only apply if you can commit to attending them in person.

What is the selection process?

Accepted Answer

We get thousands of applications from all over the country. We carefully screen the applications and the motivation essays. We look for authenticity, personal experiences and motivation in these essays. Based on these qualities, we shortlist a few candidates for a phone interview. The final round is the group discussion where the candidates get to interact with each other in small groups. Our final cohort for each city is finalized after this.

How can I apply for the paid internship?

Accepted Answer

The application process is the same for all participants. The interns will be chosen from each cohort, after the two-month training is completed. The interns will be selected for their aptitude, their commitment to the program, and their grasp of media literacy concepts.

We will reach out to the shortlisted candidates after the application deadline is over and we have reviewed all the applications. We will be screening the first shortlist of applicants based on the essay part of the application.
