ELLE’s 2,900 square foot semi-circular mural painting was commissioned as part of its HYxOffTheWall initiative to reinvigorate Hudson Yards during the Covid pandemic in New York. The aim of ELLE's painting was to highlight the heart and soul of New York. She wanted to empower and show love to her city, who had been through so much. ELLE explained that all the figures are “looking forward” and “to a brighter future.” She specifically painted women, and to portray them “in a strong way.” She said, “The imagery isn’t meant to represent any single woman, but rather all of them, because women are most powerful together. That said, my work isn’t only about all women coming together; it’s about what comes together in all women: creation, life, beauty.”

The Goddess #1/16

Dscreet is an Australian artist from a graffiti background. His passion for art began as a child. He got into the NYC style graffiti world and later turned to street art. Dscreet moved to East London when street art was blowing up and wanted to be immersed into different cultures to expand his creativity. His work has evolved into muralism and gallery installations; he works with a mix of painting, sculpture, film and light installation. Dscreet has exhibited at galleries in London, New York, Paris, Los Angeles and Melbourne amongst many others.

Tom Gerrard is an Australian painter, international muralist and active NFT creator whose art focuses on suburban life and the everyday man. Heads #1/16

Michael Fikaris is a multidisciplinary artist who is known for his spanning drawings, comics, printmaking and street art. Fikaris’ printmaking later transformed into zines, which he exhibited in light boxes. Alongside these group shows and graphic novels, Fikaris was painting the streets. His artwork evolved from a sort of reading robot, to a floating or pointing character. Fikaris’ artistic oeuvre has allowed him to experience diverse opportunities around the globe. He has worked on 1,000 art tours and has street art located in Lisboa, Portugal. He has also spent some time living overseas in Canada and the US.

KICKING BACK  
"Kicking Back" is the main piece from the series END POINTS. This piece was painted in Lisbon city laneways in 2017 while Michael Fikaris was there doing a residency at the comic book library for two weeks. He had to spend a few days scouting the area to create this piece.

Kicking Back #1/16

Rose Staff and Nick Azidis are a collaborative duo under the name of Projection Teknik creating immersive digital projection installations. The two artists came together early in 2016 to create the installation for White Night Melbourne, a sound and vision projection at the State Library of Victoria. Over the last four years, they have worked on many major events and projects throughout Australia and Europe. They share a passion for geometric abstraction, optical illusions and exploring the field of public art.

A RISING TIDE  
The aphorism “a rising tide raises all ships” stands as a symbol of our times. We are living amidst a rising tide of anti-racism, of feminism and compassion, of Black Lives Matter and environmental awareness. The juxtaposition of a rising tide, of course, is an environmental disaster and means devastation to Miami and elsewhere in the world. This street art piece was done in collaboration with Miss Reds.

The image: a spray paint collage portrays two giant goddesses. They hold us humans in their hands and watch as our choices and actions reveal what our future world will look like.
