Question 1

What is a submission?

Accepted Answer

A submission is your application to one of the Artells Media magazines for editorial consideration. You upload a photography series, provide information about your work and creative team, and choose the magazine that best fits your style. The editorial team then reviews your project for potential publication (print & digital issue).

Question 2

When will I receive the review results?

Accepted Answer

Your submission will be reviewed by the magazine's editorial team. Review times are 1-3 working days.

You'll receive a notification (and email) when a decision is made, so keep an eye on your email and account notifications.

Question 3

Is submitting free?

Accepted Answer

You can submit your work using the available free submission allowance.

PRO membership provides additional submission opportunities and priority editorial review.

Optional paid features, such as covers, interviews, and other promotional opportunities, may also be available.

Question 4

What is the full process from submitting to publishing?

Accepted Answer

1. Submit and get accepted. Once your project is accepted, you'll have time before the publication deadline to review and edit your title and credits if anything is missing or needs correction.

2. Get published next month. Your photos will be published in the following month's issue. You'll receive a notification when the issue is released, along with links to order print and digital copies.

3. Receive your tear sheets for free. One month after the issue's release, you'll receive tear sheets, so you can showcase your published work in your portfolio and share it with clients.

4. Get additional editorial promotion. If your project is specially selected by the editors, your work may also be featured on the magazine's social media channels and/or website, giving you even more visibility.

Question 5

What are tear sheets?

Accepted Answer

Tear sheets are digital pages from the magazine featuring your published photo project, including your photographs, name, and creative team credits. They serve as official proof of your publication and are a valuable addition to your professional portfolio.

You can add them to your website, portfolio, or CV, share them on social media, send them to potential clients, or use them to promote your work wherever you like.

They're a simple way to showcase your international publication credits, strengthen your professional image, and demonstrate your experience to future clients and collaborators.
