Where are the classes and at what time?

Our weekly classes and socials take place at Storgata 132A (LHL Tromsø, side entrance). Drop us a message on Facebook if you cannot find us!

The classes are taught on Monday nights, but the specific time varies depending on the class level and semester. Please check our Facebook page for the latest schedule.

How much do the classes cost?

For the fall semester 2026, our prices are:
- 1300 NOK for members
- 1550 NOK for non-members
- 750 NOK for students
The first two weeks of each semester are free for anyone wishing to try West Coast Swing.

The membership in Arctic Westies costs 350 NOK per calendar year, and it gives you discounts on semester passes, weekend intensives, and themed classes, as well as access to some member-only events and voting rights within the club.

Question 3

Can I join classes even though I have never danced before or I don't have a partner?

Absolutely! We have classes for complete beginners where we teach you the basics of WCS from the ground up. You also don't need to come with a partner – we rotate partners during class, so everyone gets to dance with everyone!

Question 4

Are your classes taught in Norwegian or English?

Our classes are typically taught in English, but the club itself is bilingual, so if you want to ask questions or get explanations in Norwegian instead – we can totally do that.

Question 5

Can I join classes in the middle of the semester?

Accepted Answer

If you are a complete beginner, we would recommend starting classes at the start of a semester, so that you can learn the material at a relaxed pace with the entire class. However, if you are very keen to join us in the middle of a semester, it could be possible to arrange 2–3 private lessons to catch up with the rest of the students.
