Sel "babyysel" LeWitt is a Vancouver-born Digital Creator and YouTuber. Originally a writer and conceptual artist, Sel now creates content at the intersection of lifestyle, consumer technology, and entrepreneurship. Educated at the prestigious University of British Columbia, she graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Double Major in Art History and Sociology). Area of Concentration: Postmodern Theory and 20th Century Art. During her time at university, she was Editor-in-Chief of UBC’s Undergraduate Journal of Sociology, in which she served a three-year tenure. UBC’s Undergraduate Journal of Sociology remains the oldest and largest undergraduate and faculty-reviewed Sociology publication in North America.

Largely known for her inimitable personality, illustrious writing voice, signature style and satirical tongue-in-cheek humour, she shares her life, outfits and musings via her Youtube channel 'babyysel', having garnered over 100k subscribers. She was subsequently awarded a 100k Silver Play Button in March of 2026. In years past, Sel was known in the Vancouver food community as “Vancity Noms” and ran vancitynoms.com, the #2 Ranked Vancouver food blog on Zomato (formerly Urbanspoon) at the time, from 2013 to 2020. She was also Yelp Elite Gold from ’14 '15 '16 '17 '18 '19.

Succeeding a lineage of entrepreneurs and academics, she was instilled with the precepts of self-belief and a propensity for risk-taking early on. Her father owned a government-subsidized motel on East Hastings in the 2000s and four suburban storefronts in Taiwan, later expanding said business operations extralocally. Her maternal lineage: her aunt is a professor of Education and Sociology/Gender Studies at the University of British Columbia. Her late grandfather was a professor of Economics at National Taiwan University, having served a forty year tenure. Her paternal lineage: her uncles run their own respective businesses.

Sel was educated in literature and the arts from a young age. Known for her literary prowess and elusive, rhythmic blend of Academic English, Early Modern English (EModE), and African American Vernacular English (AAVE), she optimizes for stylistic readability and palatability ahead of grammatical orthodoxy. Sel moved out at the age of 20, favouring autonomy over cultural convention. Sel is an INTJ.
