I am Arun Sharma, a chef and the founder of The Culinary Project, a platform dedicated to authentic Indian cuisine, regional food traditions, and practical modern cooking. My journey into cooking began in New York City, where I struggled to find truly authentic regional Indian dishes. That experience pushed me to start cooking seriously and eventually shaped my path as a chef. Over the years, I have built my culinary knowledge through a combination of professional training and deep field learning. I have worked in high-end kitchens in New York City, including alongside chefs in Michelin-starred environments, where I developed discipline around precision, consistency, and fine-dining execution aligned with the standards associated with the Michelin Guide. I am also certified in Food Protection in New York City, with a strong focus on hygiene and professional kitchen practices. Alongside my professional experience, much of my learning has come from traveling across India—visiting more than 150 towns and cities and learning directly from generational nawabs, khansamas, and home cooks.
