Weave 2 projects at the same time Set the loom up to weave Double Cloth designs with the increased EPI Weave designs with a mirror image using both sides of the loom to align more easily (think pouches, baskets and X-Mas stockings) Add in a extra warp using the 2nd side of the Heddle bar or adding an extra Heddle Bar (purchased separately) for a finer cloth or warp variety 3. Adjustable Heddle Bars Long channels to smoothly slide your Heddle Bar and adjust your warp tension Adjust your Heddle Bar to the lowest position to weave smaller projects so as not to waste yarn Remove top and/or bottom Heddle Bars and position to weave longer projects using clamps (think scarves, lampshades and plant pot holders) Easily warp and wind a longer warp onto the Heddle Bar and re-attach to the frame for weaving 4. However no assembly is required with these looms, so you can be weaving in seconds. Our 'Rainbow Looms' (as they are affectionately being called) are the perfect starting point for beginner weavers or for weavers looking for a portable solution to test ideas or to bring on holiday. Available in a gorgeous array of 7 pastel colours, these new frame looms are laser-cut with precision from durable acrylic. They were also conceived as a Covid-friendly solution as these looms can be washed, therefore minimising surface transmission and making them the perfect loom to work with and share within your household. ** Discontinuing - Apricot & Lavender (Last Stock!)** Our weaving tools have been designed to pair perfectly with our frame looms or to add to your collection of handy tools for tapestry or hand-weaving on your table or floor looms. Each solid beech or acrylic tool has been carefully designed to work with the dimensions and spacing of our frame looms, which are set out at 2, 4, 8 and 16 EPI. They are wonderful to handle, easy to use, frictionless and long–lasting. Each tool also has a circular opening so you can store your tools neatly for safe-keeping using the handy clasp ring that comes available when you purchase multiple tools. Individual Tools Available: Shed Stick: Use this tool by weaving it into position and turning it onto its end to open the shed (space between warp threads when weaving). Small: 25cm x 2.5cm (pairs with Medium Oxford Frame Loom) Large: 50cm x 2.5cm (pairs with X-Large Oxford Frame Loom) Shuttle: Wind your weft yarns neatly around the length of the shuttle when working with longer or thicker yarns, enabling you to weave across your warp with ease. One Size: 25cm x 3cm Weaving Comb: Use this tool to push down your weft yarn into place. One Size: 6.5cm x 5.5cm EPI Counter: Use this tool to measure how many Ends Per Inch (EPI) your chosen yarn is. This will help you to understand your yarn thicknesses and how your weft yarns relate to your chosen warp yarn. One Size: 5.5cm x 2.5cm Needles: Use this tool to attach the end of your weft yarn, weave over and under each warp thread across your warp to create each row of weaving. If you've ever wanted to learn to weave and take our Intro to Weaving workshop in our studio but have been unable to due to lockdowns, available dates or if you live abroad, then this is the workshop for you! Skill Level: Beginner Our new Online Intro to Weaving workshop is a fun and explorative way to learn a new craft skill without needing to follow a rigid curriculum. Cassandra will guide you to learn plain weave, twills, hop sack, ribs and techniques like Soumak, Rya knots (and more!) all from the comfort of your own home. Her unique design approach (which she uses in her own practice at Cassandra Sabo Designs) combines hand-weaving AND tapestry weaving, two different ways of approaching this contemporary craft. As she explains the difference between the two, she will also encourage you to understand your weaving aesthetic so that you can develop your own individual way of weaving. What You Will Learn Through a period of 4 hours (with a 20min break in the middle), you will learn how to weave your very own wall-hanging using a variety of gorgeous yarns and fibres in your choice of colour.
