I hope you’re doing well! I’m reaching out because I care about keeping our community healthy, and I recently learned that improper disposal of antibiotics can contribute to antibiotic resistance. Since pharmacies play such a key role in public health, I wanted to ask if [Pharmacy Name] currently has a program for customers to return unused antibiotics for safe disposal.
If not, would you consider starting one? Many people don’t realize that flushing or tossing antibiotics in the trash can lead to contamination of water supplies and the environment, which helps resistant bacteria spread. Having a designated drop-off for unused antibiotics—or simply letting customers know the best way to dispose of them—could make a big difference!
