Hi there! It's Gamal Zayed, a Research Assistant in the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering at The American University in Cairo (AUC), Egypt. I have been interested in Citizen Science Radio Amateur Research, investigating ionospheric High-Frequency (HF) radio wave absorption using Personal Space Weather Stations (PSWS) observations and the International Reference Ionosphere (IRI)-2020 model via the PHaRLAP ray-tracing toolkit. I joined a fabulous, dynamic team that was recognized as a 2022 NASA Space Apps Challenge “Global Finalist”. My research interests span Onboard AI and Edge Compute in space, Onboard Autonomy, On-orbit Compute, Resource Scheduling, Weather for ground downlinks, Machine Learning for space systems, Radio Occultation, and HF ionospheric modeling.
