We are the Yankee Ladies of Southeast Michigan, a local chapter of Women in Aviation International, the world's largest nonprofit dedicated to advancing women in aviation and aerospace.

What Do We Do?

We host exciting events year-round that bring the aviation community together. Our biggest event is our annual Girls in Aviation Day, which aims to inspire future aviators by introducing them to educational and career opportunities through hands-on experiences. We also host workshops and panels with industry experts, offer mentorship and networking opportunities, give back through volunteer and outreach efforts, and plan social events where members can connect, build friendships, and have fun.

Joining a local chapter of Women in Aviation gives you a supportive community that empowers, uplifts, and connects you with others who share your passion for aviation. You’ll gain access to networking, mentorship, educational opportunities, and industry insight while building meaningful relationships with people who live and work in your area.

Everyone is welcome, no matter your age, gender, background, or experience level. If you’re in Southeast Michigan and passionate about aviation, you qualify to be a member. The Yankee Ladies Chapter has room for you and we can’t wait to welcome you.

We’re excited to help you join Women in Aviation. Head over to wai.org (the official Women in Aviation website) become a member and select the Yankee Ladies of Southeast Michigan as your chapter. Once registered, email us at yankeeladieswai@gmail.com to receive all chapter communications.

Membership is open to all stages of life, education, and career. We welcome Junior Members in middle or high school, Student Members in college, trade school, or flight training, and Individual Members for professionals or aviation enthusiasts.
