The Pocket - Middle Eastern Eatery

The food here is amazing! We were looking at the menu outside and the boss man came out to give us some falafels to try! It’s really really good. The lunch deal is quite worth it as well, $19.5 for a pocket, chips and a drink.

I tried the kofta one which is not part of the lunch deal. It’s really good, very meaty, not super gamey. It’s really juicy as well. The chips were very good too. It’s the thinner cut so it’s easier to bite, crispy, seasoned really well. The drink which is some sort of lemonade is really refreshing as well.

I had a bite of the other ones too. The chicken schnitzel one is good, though I think my favourite one is probably the falafel. Very well spiced, cooked really well, not dry at all.

All the pockets are packed to the brim, filled with amazing sauce, and tastes really good as well. I highly recommend this place if you’re feeling for a quick bite. The service is amazing as well, place is really clean, everyone in there super friendly.

A hidden gem in Highett! The Pocket serves up homely, comforting Middle Eastern food that hits the spot. The grilled chicken pocket was beautifully balanced, but the fried cauliflower stole the show—crispy, flavour-packed perfection. And the chips? Absolute heaven. Everything was fresh, delicious, and made with love. The staff were also so friendly- they  all seemed just generally glad to share what was on their menu. Can’t wait to go back!

One of our favourite Middle Eastern restaurants! Love the kofta and pita bread especially! Have been many times and will keep coming back! 🥰

Absolutely loved the food here! The pita pocket was one of the yummiest I’ve had — generously filled and full of flavour. The fried cauliflower was a standout and something you don’t commonly find done this well in Melbourne.<br><br>The falafels were perfect — moist on the inside with a super crispy bite-sized crunch on the outside. And the homemade lemonade with a hint of rose was refreshing and delicious.<br><br>Everything felt fresh, well-balanced, and thoughtfully made. Definitely coming back 💯📈

Dropped by for lunch and was greeted by Ash - outstanding service provided by him and the Pocket and Rolls were very tasty. And talk about full of filling! Any more and they'd explode! We were also given some sample Falafel balls on the house - fresh and a must try. Will definitely be back to this place...keep up the fantastic food and venue!

I’m so happy to have this recommendation from my friend. Amazingly delicious food, outstanding service for reasonable price - what a good  combination! And thanks guys for complementary falafels while I was waiting for my order🫶
