STORY OF WAITING:
Kars is one of our eastern cities that mostly known city of white. The city that is under the snow for 3-4 months every winter makes living the harshest in Anatolia. Even so when the snow starts the city becomes land of a fairy tale. The city center with its architectural texture, frozen Lake Çıldır and the ancient city of Ani which is thousands of years old, are the most important places you can see here. The best way is going to Kars is take an epic journey by Eastern Express Train.

On the first day of my journey to Kars where I went with dreams of a white city. Unfortunately, the snowless streets disappointed me. However, when I woke up next morning a surprise was waiting for me. During the night it had snowed heavily, and the city had a white cover. 

I met with this man during my trip in Kars. He is sled rider on frozen lake for years. Despite the freezing cold of the harsh winter on Lake Çıldır, he is always ready to work, and he makes joyful trips for the visitors. The cold was so ingrained that the lines on his blackened face deepened even more. You can listen to him hours his most detailed and entertaining stories of Kars.

STORY OF SHY:
In Hinduism Mathura is birthplace and homeland of Hindu God Krishna. The city is also one of seven sacred cities in India. Because of importance Mathura is also the best place to see and celebrate colorful Holi Festival in a most traditional way. This religious city is full history and amazing culture.  

I usually prefer to get a contact with the person before I take portrait photographs. At first, I communicate, try to learn about them and then get their permission to photograph. In a fine portrait tells something about the spirit of your subject than can be sensed by someone without any words, something universal. Faces and eyes talk more about the person. 

I saw this woman in a street of Mathura. She was shy and timid, and I didn’t want to take her photograph at that time. After two hours later, we met again in a different part of the town. I felt that she was looking at me and posing. I shot it immediately.
