We met in 2021 while Bryn was serving her mission in Dallas, Texas. Mauricio’s family would have the missionaries over each week, and we got to know each other over six months of Sunday dinners. We got along really well but didn’t keep in contact afterward. Mauricio left to serve his mission in Spain, and Bryn independently decided to do an internship in Spain as well. We reconnected in 2024 after unexpectedly seeing each other at the Madrid temple! Bryn started to realize she had feelings for Mauricio after visiting his missionary district in Sevilla. We kept in touch occasionally, with Mauricio’s parents encouraging him to respond. Mauricio decided to attend BYU, and we went on our first date a few days after he arrived in August 2025. Once he couldn’t wait any longer, Mauricio proposed and we got engaged in May. Our wedding reception will be in Provo on August 7th, followed by the ceremony August 8th.
