Who We Are
Welcome to the Lōkahi Community.
I'm Megan, Founder of Lōkahi. My background is in Early Years Education and I have an MSc in International Humanitarian Affairs. Over the years I've worked with children from all ages but my true passion lay with volunteering and integrating such learning into the Early Years. I've volunteered with both local and large organisations in which I've learnt so much and met so many inspirational people.
Why Lōkahi? Coming from the Hawaiian language, Lōkahi means Unity, Oneness & Harmony. Leialoha (2020) mentions that Lōkahi allows us to be united as ONE.
Lōkahi also mentions that while we all might not agree on everything, we can all still be united as ONE and choose our own stories.
By setting up Lōkahi, my aim is to bring many organisations together as ONE, sharing inspirations, ideas and stories around global topics and diversity and how these can be used within Early Years Education.
