I gather information to tailor your investments to your changing circumstances and needs throughout your life.

What are your managing fees?

We do not charge service fees, ie. meetings are free.

My compensation comes from a percentage of the average net assets of an investor's fund annually. Investors do not pay fees directly; they are deducted from the fund's assets.

At the end of the day, my success as an advisor is fully dependent on your investment's success.

Brokerage or bank?

It depends on your needs and goals.

If you need help with daily banking, a personal banker is ideal. On the other hand, if you want a well-planned and successful financial future with tailored investment advice, a financial advisor would be a better choice.

Financial advisors working at banks have limitations on investment opportunities as they focus on selling the bank's own fund allocation. In comparison, advisors coming from a brokerage aren't pushed to sell a specific product.

Can I make changes to my portfolio?

Yes, and no. Your advisor is the only one authorized to make approved changes to your portfolio, with your consent for the requests that you make. This helps prevent emotional short-term trading that would've harm your portfolio.

How is Plater Financial Inc. affiliated with Canada Life and Quadrus?

In 2020, Great-West Life, London Life, and Canada Life merged to form The Canada Life Assurance Company. Quadrus, formerly London Life's mutual fund subsidiary, is now part of Canada Life. Plater Financial Inc. acts as a brokerage, providing mutual fund products through Quadrus, which includes Canada Life's comprehensive financial offerings, such as insurance and investment options.
