A historic result at the 1992 Paris-Sirte-Cape Town, the longest Dakar Rally ever
Gianni Lora Lamia, driving a Nissan WD21 Terrano 3.0 V6 T1 from the Dessoude Agip team, finished the 14th edition of the 1992 Paris-Sirte-Cape Town with a prestigious third place overall in the T1 Marathon 4x4 Petrol category, with a more than excellent performance, without any flaws or errors, a historic result in a race that proved to be technically difficult, crossing the entire African continent from north to south to reach Cape Town in South Africa, 23 days of racing and 12,700 km, the longest Dakar ever held, a race full of pitfalls and unexpected events, with many special stages more reminiscent the Safari Rally in Kenya, also encountering two wars in progress along the way, in Tchad and in Angola.
And that wasn't enough, Nissan dominated the T1 Marathon 4x4 category with 3 Terrano WD21 3.0L V6s in the top three overall positions: 1st Jerome Riviere-Alain Marion, 2nd Guy DeladriĆØre-Charlie Gotlib, and 3rd Gianni Lora Lamia-Roberto di Persio.
One, Two, Three for Nissan.
