'Map the Wild’ is a board game to spark conversations about rewilding urban landscapes and promote biodiversity awareness. It is a 2-player light-strategy board-game, set in a climate-altered world, that follows two friends navigating an overgrown city. Amidst the challenges of hunger and diseases, both these friends have to discover wild edible and medicinal plants for survival. Players learn to identify and use wild plants, fostering a deeper understanding of urban ecology. The game highlights the importance of traditional ecological knowledge in the wake of a climate altered world. . . Developed by Forgotten Greens and Swacardz, in collaboration with traditional knowledge holders, and illustrators, the game ensures conversations about rewilding and sustainability in a rapidly urbanizing world. . . The Ethical Plate by Shruti Tharayil
The Ethical Plate returns with a conversation that is relevant and attuned to all our immediate realities -- with Shruti Tharayil of Forgotten Greens! Join us as we unravel the meaning of foraging, and Shruti's involvement with it. We also discuss the cultural, socio-economic implications of foraging in the urban context, as well as its gender, caste and partisan politics. From everyone's new-again wild weed favourite -- Purslane -- which can be found lining garden paths, and cooked quite easily to cool the body off in the raging summer heat, to the perils of over-foraging, we cover several crucial points in the realm of foraging. Here's to honouring our forgotten greens and the favours of the untamed land!
