I do not bill private or commercial insurance companies directly. However, I am happy to provide you with a detailed professional receipt (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. What does Medi-Cal cover for postpartum care?

Accepted Answer

Your Covered Visits:
Under California's Medi-Cal benefit, you are automatically eligible for one initial consultation and up to 8 standard visits that can be used for prenatal or postpartum care.
​Extended Postpartum Care:
You are also entitled to two extended 3-hour postpartum visits immediately following birth to give you extra hands-on recovery support. (Note: If your doctor or licensed practitioner provides a second recommendation, Medi-Cal can cover up to an additional 9 postpartum visits if needed).
​Requirements:
To unlock your care, Medi-Cal simply requires a quick, standard recommendation from your physician, midwife, or licensed practitioner.

What geographic areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

I strictly serve families located within a 20-minute driving radius of my East San Fernando Valley hub. This allows me to remain local, highly accessible, and deeply embedded in our local community. My standard service areas include: Burbank, Noho, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Toluca Lake, Valley Glen, Valley Village, and Van Nuys.

Question 4

What is your minimum shift requirement?  (Non medi-cal only)

Accepted Answer

For daytime postpartum care, my minimum booking requirement is 4 hours per shift. For overnight care, shifts are scheduled at a minimum of 8 hours. This structure ensures enough dedicated, uninterrupted time to provide deep, wrap around physical and emotional support for both the baby and the recovering parents.

What Values govern your postpartum doula practice?

My practice is entirely rooted in deep non judgment, child centered empathy, and positive child development. I will treat older siblings and pets with respect.  I am passionate about affirming all individuals and diverse family structures, providing an explicitly LGBTQ+ inclusive safe space. To protect my energy and deliver the highest quality of wrap around care, I partner exclusively with safe, loving, and respectful households.
