WHAT IS THE LOCKER ROOM PROJECT?

At Wood's Homes' Bowness Campus, there are adolescent boys in treatment care who are navigating some of the hardest chapters of their lives. Trauma. Mental health challenges. Identity. The kind of stuff most of us never had to face at that age.


The Locker Room Project creates a therapeutic fitness and recovery space for those young men. It's not just a gym. It's a structured, supervised environment where trained staff guide residents through physical activity tied to emotional regulation, confidence building, and routine development.

The space will include strength and conditioning equipment, cardio options designed for supervised clinical settings, a dedicated Recovery and Regulation Corner for nervous system calming, and a "Mind and Muscle" program that integrates therapeutic check-ins with physical activity.
