I'm Sharifa Johka, Founder and Executive Director of Black Re{AL}ities, a nonprofit at the intersection of Black creativity, culture, and emerging technology. For over 20 years I've worked as a Creative Producer in film and television, organizing complex experiences across Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, Lagos, and Accra. Ghana has been part of my life for over two decades. First through work, then by choice, and always with purpose. That relationship became the foundation for Black Re{AL}ities Experiences, where I curate transformative 10-day journeys to Accra for Black Travelers who want more than sightseeing. This space is where my worlds meet: the nonprofit work, the creative work, and the travel work. All of it rooted in the same belief: Black life is never one thing. It's layered, infinite, evolving, and global. Everything I'm building is in the links above.
