CONCEPT OVERVIEW
The Community Kitchen Pathway Workshop is a flexible training program designed for any community setting with a kitchen.
Its goal is to use shared kitchen spaces as a place to learn practical food skills, build confidence in cooking, and explore ways to eat well on a budget. Participants can engage at different levels from learning simple meal preparation and making everyday staples like dressings or sauces, to experimenting with ingredients they might not usually use, or discovering that good food doesn’t require being a professional chef.
While the program can also provide pathways to professional kitchen environments & food-safety certification for those interested, it is equally intended as a space for creative, hands-on food workshops that empower participants to cook, enjoy, & share meals.
This model is intentionally flexible & scalable. It can be adapted to shelters, community centers, food distribution programs, churches, or any campus with a kitchen.
