The survey & fitting process was good & the stairlifts have proven to be fairly reliable given they were refurbished. The problem came when I was contacted by the company to say that if my warranty was to remain valid I needed to have a service visit at a cost of £195, a fact which was not drawn to my attention initially when the order was completed. I felt this charge was a bit steep but accepted the situation & sent off my cheque. I was then contacted to say that, as we had had two stairlifts fitted as we had a half landing with a turn on the stairs & this was the best & most cost effective solution, another £195 was required. This despite their being one contract & the letter reminding me that the service was needed for the continuation of the warranty only referred to one charge of £195. I made representations that I considered this excessive & had not had this not insignificant outlay drawn to my attention when placing my order but was told that this was the procedure. I pointed out that the service would only require one call at our home & one cost for the engineer's travel etc. but no concession or reduction could be made. Thus the costs of servicing to maintain the warranty in effect added a significant amount of expenditure to the initial cost of the installation & made what I had initially considered a fair price for the lifts considerably less attractive. The extra payment for servicing I consider excessive, not disclosed at the outset & normally one expects a warranty to cover a product throughout its duration without having to make extra payments. So an initially happy customer of A1 stairlifts is no longer so - beware of extra charges when placing an order.

Excellent service. Knew what they were talking about and fixed mums recliner. Glad they were recommend to me. Won't hesitate to call them again.

I bought a mobility scooter here. An extremely caring service. Really helpful and I was not pressurized into making a decision. Next day delivery was a great bonus, plus tuition on how to take it apart and put it in the carboot. Will go again for any future mobility needs.
