Help connecting Linktree to Instagram

The Instagram Link App allows you to display your Instagram profile and showcase six of your latest posts and reels so your visitors can view your content directly on your Linktree.

Ready to connect your Linktree with Instagram? Here's what you need to know:


To successfully connect your account, your Instagram must be a Creator or Business account.

📝 Note: The steps below will help you manually connect your Instagram to Linktree. Once your Instagram account is set to a Creator or Business account, you can connect it to Linktree. Check out this article for information on how to display your Instagram profile and posts on your Linktree.

How to check your Instagram account type


  1. Head to your Instagram profile on the app.

  2. Click on Edit Profile.

  3. If there's an option to Switch to a professional account, you're currently using a personal account and will need to switch to a Creator or Business account.

How to switch your Instagram account type


A. Switch your Personal account to a Creator account:

  1. Head to your Instagram profile on the app.

  2. Tap on Edit Profile.

  3. Choose Switch to a professional account and follow the on-screen steps.

  4. Pick a category that best describes you and then select Done.

  5. Select account type as Creator and then select Next.

  6. You're all set! Your Instagram account is now a Creator account.

B. Switch your Personal account to a Business account:

  1. Head to your Instagram profile on the app.

  2. Tap on Edit Profile.

  3. Choose Switch to a professional account and follow the on-screen steps.

  4. Pick a category that best describes your business and then select Done.

  5. Select account type as Business and then select Next.

  6. Review your contact info and select Next.

  7. You've now converted your Instagram account to a Business type.

How to Disconnect Instagram from Linktree


  1. Head to the Links tab of My Linktree. Click on your Linktree Settings().

  2. Click on the Social Integration section or navigate directly to your Instagram links.

  3. Remove the linked Instagram account by selecting the desired handle and clicking delete.

  4. If the account's name has changed, follow the same steps to disconnect the old account before reconnecting with the new name.
