đ§Ș Beta feature: This feature is currently in development and isn't available to all Linkers just yet. We're working hard to roll it out to everyone soon.
Profile Lock lets you gate your entire Linktree behind an access requirement of your choosing, whether that's a password, a code, or an email opt-in. Instead of locking individual links, it puts a single access gate over your whole Linktree, so you control exactly who sees your content and when.
What Profile Lock does
Anyone who visits a locked Linktree sees a lock screen and no content until they meet the condition you set.
You can choose from three lock types:
Password: Visitors enter a password you set.
Code: Visitors enter a 4-digit code you set.
Subscribe: Visitors enter their email to unlock, and you capture it as a lead in your Audience.
How to turn on Profile Lock
Head to the Profile Access section in your Settings.
Turn on Profile Lock.
Choose a lock type: Password, Code, or Subscribe.
Enter the value for your chosen lock type, or add a description if you picked Subscribe, then save your changes.
Optionally add a custom lock screen message.
What visitors see
A visitor who lands on your locked Linktree sees a lock screen instead of your content. No links, social icons, or description load until they satisfy your lock condition.
For a Subscribe lock, a new visitor enters their email, completes a captcha, and agrees to the terms. Once they submit, your full Linktree loads for them.
Returning visitors who've already unlocked your Linktree don't need to do this again right away. We store a cookie in their browser so they're let straight through on their next visit.
FAQ
How is Profile Lock different from Link Lock?
Link Lock restricts access to a single link on your Linktree, using a Code, Age, Subscribe, or NFT Lock. Profile Lock restricts access to your entire Linktree, so nothing renders until a visitor meets your condition.
What happens to my Profile Lock settings if I downgrade to Free?
Your lock is removed and your Linktree becomes public again. You'll need to upgrade and set up Profile Lock again if you want to re-enable it.
Do visitors have to unlock my Linktree every time they visit?
No. Once a visitor unlocks your Linktree, we store a cookie in their browser for 30 days so they don't have to unlock it again during that window.
