After many months of extensive research, we are pleased to offer our Dream 3" Valved exhaust system. Our system has been developed with a few goals in mind a Unique design, distinctive sound and strong performance. We have set out to develop an exhaust system based around a de-cated car. Most owners will be aware the larger gain in power would be from replacing the downpipe installed onto the K20C1 engine found in the FK8 Civic Type R. With Track-day noise limits in place across the UK we have certain limits we need to obtain. With the want for utilising an aftermarket downpipe during trackday conditions this would be the basis for our development to start from. Utilising 3" 76mm Aerospace-grade, non-magnetic stainless steel pipework used for the entire system, we have smoothed restriction points resulting in performance gains that can be dyno proven. UK built, hand-finished welds and precision jigged construction, results in an exhaust that fits as per OEM, but with a gain in sound and performance. ---------- The system is offered in a few options of sound level ROAD - with front silencer - with mid silencer - with valved rear silencer (Best for de-catted cars) 92/93Db - de-catted TRACK - NO front silencer - with mid silencer - with valved rear silencer (Best for de-catted cars) 95/96Db - de-catted RACE - with front silencer - NO mid silencer - with valved rear silencer (Best for standard downpipe) 98/99Db - de-catted RACE+ - NO front silencer - NO mid silencer - with valved rear silencer (for Standard downpipe only) We have incorporated the use of a valve on our system to allow for adjustments of the tone and volume, allowing for any further variations in Db. The Dream Automotive Replacement CAT pipe for the Civic Type R FK8/FL5 is made from lightweight T304 stainless steel for longer life and to give the owner a higher flow rate with reduced back pressure to release the engine's full capabilities. The de-cat pipe incorporates a tangential bend turbo outlet ensuring a perfect transition through its 3.5" bend tapered down to a 3" exhaust outlet. Hand-made to the highest UK Motorsport standards, TIG welded, using water cut machined flanges we can promise an OEM fitment. This product is strictly for MOTORSPORT USE ONLY. Heat Management Hard Lagging is when the insulation material is directly attached to the downpipe. The process involves the insulation material wrapped directly around the pipe. A metallic skin is then micro spot welded directly to the pipe to secure and seal the insulation material in place. The metallic skin also acts as part of the thermal barrier by providing additional heat resistance. Performance Increase: 14-20hp, 22-29ft-lbV-Box Acceleration: 60-130mph Reduced By 1.2 Seconds The Honda FK8 Type R intake is the result of extensive design iteration through dyno testing and flow analysis. It was developed to achieve two objectives – 1) Maintain low inlet temperatures. 2) De-restrict the turbo inlet path. The first objective was met by enclosing the filter inside a carbon airbox and using the stock seal against the hood to block out the heat soak from the engine. Since the intake sits directly behind the radiator it is crucial that the filter is not exposed which would result in a loss of power through high IAT. The second objective was met by removing the flexible tubing and optimising the inlet path with a Venturi stack connected directly to the filter. Furthermore, we added a second inlet to the airbox with a scoop pulling in air from the inner wing area. This almost doubles the total cross-sectional area from which the turbo can draw as compared with the single entry on the stock system. Our carbon airbox enclosure has been designed to maximize the use of the available volume and block all sources of heat. The resulting performance gains and aesthetics are industry-leading for the FK8 Type R. The standard airbox draws in air from a single entry duct behind the front bumper. The size of this inlet is very small at approximately 35cm^2. The demand from the turbo results in this opening becoming a restriction. However, simply opening the filter inside the engine bay is detrimental since the filter position is directly behind the radiator and once the engine warms up - the filter will become quickly saturated with heat. Our intake system solves this issue by keeping the filter enclosed inside an airbox and adding a secondary feed that opens the inlet area by another 28cm^2. This coupled with our Venturi Filter stack for smooth flow results in an immediate gain across the entire RPM range of 14-20hp. The dyno graph below shows the comparison between the stock airbox and the Eventuri intake system on a standard car with a standard map and exhaust. Dyno runs were done back to back on the same day and with the hood closed. We then carried out road testing using a Vbox unit to record the acceleration from 60-130mph (also 100-200Km/h). Testing was conducted on the same stretch of road - again on the same day to keep variables minimum. Results show that with just the intake added, the acceleration times from 60-130mph and also 100-200Km/h was reduced by approximately 1.2 seconds which is a significant change at such speeds. Steering Wheel Re-Trimming Re-Trim - Send us your steering wheel and we will re-trim it. We aim to return your wheel within 15 working days. There is no Outright Purchase or Advance Exchange option available for the FK2. The customer is responsible for return postage and we recommend the use of a tracked and insured service. Alcantara cleaning: In order to preserve the beauty of Alcantara it is recommended that regular cleaning is carried out. Daily cleaning: It is sufficient to dust Alcantara using a soft brush, a dry microfiber cloth, or a vacuum cleaner. Weekly/Monthly cleaning: After having dusted Alcantara, run a slightly moistened white cotton cloth over it (some Alcantara cleaners see below are recommended previous customers). Run it over the whole Alcantara material, making sure not to wet it excessively; Leave to dry (overnight). Once dried, in order to restore the material, brush it delicately with a soft bristle brush.
