Linktree is a side hustle turned startup that has grown to become one of the fastest growing platforms in the world.
With over 8.5 million users globally, Linktree enables influencers, creators, publishers and brands as well as users like Selena Gomez, Jessica Alba, Arnold Schwarzenegger, HBO and Red Bull to connect their audience to their entire digital ecosystem. Linktree has become an integral connective layer in the marketing tech stack of millions.
We’re now incredibly excited to announce that we have raised $10.7m USD, led by Insight Partners & Airtree, to continue to transform the way people deliver, discover, monetize and consume on the internet.
Until now we’ve been entirely self funded. Despite a lot of investor interest over the years, we kept our heads down and remained independent which allowed us to:
1. Focus on the product & our users
Every single side of Linktree that you see and interact with is the result of deliberate and highly considered choices. This meticulous hyper-focus on the product, and not solely on revenue has ensured Linktree continues to be the best possible version of itself. As we grow with our users, so to does our commitment to adding meaningful value to users (and their visitors’) lives.
2. Remain in ‘stealth mode’
We flew under the radar for a long time. Our users took notice long before the rest of the world had time to catch up. Without scrutiny and pressure we were able to stay true to our vision and grow a truly global community from our home in Australia.
3. Build a sustainable business on our terms
We knew early on that authentic user acquisition was the best way to grow sustainably, we also knew that an unwavering focus on serving our users’ needs above all was how we would get there. Many companies, especially those that are venture backed, focus on paying to acquire users to achieve momentum and scale. In the long run this isn’t sustainable, we knew that revenue and growth was sure to follow if we set a sustainable pace and didn’t force Linktree upon anyone. We wanted our revenue to come from people trusting, loving and using the product, not from selling ads or our users’ data.
Why raise now?
The category Linktree created is growing rapidly, and with our explosive global user growth, we decided now is the right time to scale up the team across the globe. And along with our new partners comes a wealth of knowledge and guidance to help us realize Linktree’s true potential.
We set out to partner with teams that are aligned with our vision, and we have certainly found this in the incredible teams at Insight and Airtree. Raising now doesn’t change our focus or priorities, it means we can scale our team of passionate people and continue to deliver an even better experience to our users more quickly than ever before.

From the first moment we spoke it was immediately clear to us how intimately Rebecca, Jeff and the entire Insight team understood the opportunity in front of us.
Airtree: Regarded as one of the top tier firms in Australia, having invested early in Canva and many other Australian success stories, we were beyond thrilled that John and Jackie believed in us from the first time we met, long before we had considered raising.
