Jada Kingdom is a dancehall and R&B singer based in Kingston, Jamaica. She started her career as an Instagram and swimsuit model before turning to music.
Name: Jada Ashanti Murphy
Birthday: September 5, 1998
Nationality: Jamaican
Zodiac sign: Virgo
Linktree username: jadakingdom

Kingdom is the recording artist’s chosen name. She was born Jada Ashanti Murphy but changed her name to Jada Kingdom in response to the physical abuse she endured growing up. The last name “Kingdom” metaphorically represents the singer’s body as a temple.
Kingdom’s customized Linktree page transports viewers into her universe. She uses a music video as a background on the page. Among her links, she embeds another video clip. She also shares jump-links to her new songs and videos and an invite to sign up for her mailing list. She uses social icons to make it easy for her fans to check her presence on different platforms. Finally, she takes advantage of tools such as custom buttons and font styles.

Kingdom is open on social media about her mental health struggles, including bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression. She doesn’t necessarily see herself as a role model but understands that sharing her journey makes her relatable to her fans.
Kingdom is from Bull Bay, on the southeast side of Jamaica’s capital, Kingston.
Kingdom says she was surrounded by music growing up and that her father was “very musical” and enjoyed jazz. She grew up listening to artists such as Nina Simone and Sam Cooke. Kingdom started writing poetry around age eight, and her lines became lyrics over time. She also says Jamaica and its vibrant creative energy are central to her tracks. She describes her vibe as a musical type of “gumbo” – a mash-up of different popular styles.

Kingdom is featured on “One Away,” a Sean Kingston music video, and artists like DaVido and Vybz Kartel have remixed her songs “One Time” and “Cast Iron Heart,” respectively. She also went on tour in the U.S. with Kranium and is featured on “Get Paid,” an Aluna track.
Yes, Kingdom features in D’Yani’s track “Feelings (Remix).”
Kingdom released her debut single, “Love Situations,” in 2017.
In 2021, Kingdom signed with Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group.
Kingdom splashed into the industry with her single “Love Situations,” which topped local charts. Her catchy 2020 hit “Banana” has close to four million views on YouTube and another 5.5 million on Spotify at the time of writing. That said, her 2022 hit single, “GPP,” currently holds the highest number of video plays of all her songs on Apple Music at the time of writing. In short, this famous recording artist continues to break through with new successes and sounds.
Kingdom has released several popular singles and the 2020 EP E-Syde Queen (The Twinkle Playlist) #Snacksize.
In “Jungle,” Kingdom “speaks her truth” about her hardships growing up in an under-resourced neighborhood. She classifies the song as “an up-close and personal look into what growing up in Jamaica was for me.” Kingdom says, “Most of the things I speak about in the song lyrics and that you see in the video are actually real-life situations that I’ve seen and/or been a victim of.” Filming the music video was “very emotional.” Though produced in Florida, it portrays the difficulties of living in Jamaica. The video brought back painful childhood memories for the singer.

Kingdom sometimes goes by “Twinkle,” which she also uses as her official name on Twitter.
Born on September 5, 1998, Kingdom is 24 years old at the time of writing.
Kingdom’s height is up for debate. Some sources report she’s 5 foot 4 inches tall, while others cite 5 foot 10 inches.
