While you’re in your account settings…

Instagram offers a multitude of helpful features in your account settings that you may not know about. These can make your experience of the app much more comfortable, safe and enjoyable.

While you’re in your account settings, explore the following features:

  • Close friends: Curate a select list of followers who will see Stories that you only want to share with them, not the rest of the world.
  • Avatar: Create a graphic that looks just like you.
  • Request verification: If you’re a public figure, artist, or rising IG star, apply for verification by filling out the application available under this option.
  • Saved: Check out the posts you’ve bookmarked over time. You don’t have to scroll back or go searching for that recipe for vegetarian lasagna bowls. Instead, save it so you can find it here and get inspired for dinner tonight.
  • Language: Trying to learn French in preparation for your upcoming trip to Paris? Change the language setting on your IG account to help you practice.
  • Sharing to other apps: Set the parameters for how Instagram shares your content on other apps.
